As I reflect on my internship experience thus far, I greatly appreciate the kindness everyone at Cohen & Company has shown me. Although I have made the most of my journey as an accounting major in college, there is so much more to learn here. My coworkers have shown nothing but the utmost respect for this learning process throughout onboarding and training.
It is frequently said that accountants must be committed to life-long learning. To college students, this may just sound like we are destined to read power points forever. Working at Cohen proves that this is not the case. Although there is always new information to study, there are more relationships to build or opportunities to grow. It is less about the textbook knowledge and more about the drive to grow into a well-rounded professional.
Even though I have only been here for a short span of time now, I am excited to take on new challenges. I am also confident that the onboarding process will help us improve our soft skills. The environment is perfect to do so with an uplifting team and cheerful outlook. Witnessing coworkers sharing stories about their first busy season has been especially comforting as well.
Going forward, I look forward to contributing to the firm as a student. I genuinely feel that working here will provide a sturdy foundation for future endeavors. I intend to carry this momentum through my final year of college and beyond as a life-long learner.
